so i thought i'd introduce myself :)

I'm a 24 year old bisexual girl from Odense, Denmark who's into metal. I prefer scandinavian black, folk and death metal. for some reason most american metal just have a "spirit" to it that is not hmm... compatible with mine (i'm not really sure how to explain this better... sorry).

i started to listen to metal when i was 19 so i've been a metal head for almost 6 years now. i still feel like i know absolutely nothing about metal. i am not sure if this feeling will ever go away haha. well.... about 6 months ago i started to listen to death metal as well. earlier i found it bad but now i like it :) i guess i just had to grow up a bit haha.

i'm here to participate in discussions and to get new friends. I'd like to find some snail mail penpals here too, if that's possible. :D

there is one thing i'd like to talk about already:
recently i've realized that i don't like most of the (male) metalheads in my city who are about my age and older. it seems to me like they have this desperate need to look "macho" in front of the other metalheads here. and it annoys me a LOT. so i was wondering if this is also the case in other places....
let me give you an example: there's this guy in this city who once asked me if i wanted to be his fuckbuddy and i told him no. after that he didn't speak to me for years and i found out that he told his friends he didn't have the slightest idea who i was. it was like... i stepped on his "macho-ness" and so i was not worth knowing after all. i told him that i heard he claimed to not know me... and then we suddenly were great friends. we talk when we meet at the metal pub and we talk about common friends and stuff....
this guy is a pretty extreme case of desperate macho-ness in the metal scene here. but... there's this other guy who's 13 years older than me who stopped chatting with me after he realized i didn't want to add him to my MySpace.

i'm suspecting that this is a "metalhead-phenomenon" (perhaps only in Odense?) as i've never experienced the same in other eehhmm... communities. and i haven't seen this happening among guys younger than me.

i hope all this made sense. haha. if it didn't i'm sorry. ;D if it did... am i the only one experiencing this kind of shit?

well... this is all from me for now. i hope this entry is not too off-topic...

Why does so much metal suck so bad? I've been spending a lot of time getting high and sampling lots of different bands I've never heard before and downloading ones I think I might like. And I go through all this shit that looks awesome but actually really sucks. Like most new metal. I'm trying to open myself up to it, but it's just not working out. Like, I'm listening to Children of Bodom right now, wondering what made me actually purchase it, because it actually sucks. It was only like $2 or something, but still.

So yeah, I'm trying, but as far as death metal goes, I just keep going back to the shit I listened to when I was an angsty, bloodthirsty 15 year old - Entombed, Deicide, Morbid Angel. I've also sampled things I thought maybe other 15 year olds might've been listening to at the time, but it all sucked. I was hoping to like Venom, but no.

What were your metal favorites as an angsty teen? Do you still like 'em?

I watched Metal: A Headbanger's Journey yesterday, so that's where this desire to check out old & new bands came along, I guess. Anyway, a few people mentioned a "devil's note" that supposedly Black Sabbath was the first to use in metal music. Some sort of religiously "forbidden" note that was supposed to summon demons or something like that. They never really demonstrated what that exact note is, so I've been curious and trying to isolate what it might be from the music I'm listening to. It does seem like certain notes conjure evil images, just single notes. But I wonder what that "devil's note" may be, because I'm sure it's one of the things that makes me like certain types of metal over others.

Just like there's a certain sound that I can't quite pinpoint, that makes "new metal" so undesireable to me.

I'm getting psyched up to go see Saros tonight. They're one of the only newer bands I know of that don't suck at all, in fact, they rock. And they're local, which is sweet.

Okay, I had to get rid of Children of Bodom. Banish them from the kingdom of my mp3 player. Hey, I tried.

I think King Diamond's concept albums would make great movies. It doesn't matter if you hate him, love him or think he's a douche bag, he does make great horror albums, at least in the story part -- the music/singing style is open to debate since it's all a matter of what you like.

I just joined this community and thought I would post an intro. I'm AM from NY, metal fan since I was about 14 or 15, dropped out of the metal fan scene in my late teens/early 20s and just coming back to it. I used to listen to a lot of King Diamond, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Ozzy, AC/DC -- stuff like that. I started listening to Slayer and Metallica again, thanks to ALLOFMP3. I still like older AC/DC stuff AKA Bon Scott days. Not that Brian Johnson is bad, I just prefer Scott's vocal style better. I started playing guitar at age 13, proved to be a good thing until age 17 when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and bar chords became the devil. Dropped playing music after that but I've got the itch again, now I'm kicking around the idea of mastering the bass (single notes, no bar chords -- a dream).

I don't know any of the newer stuff, if anyone has suggestions on what's worth checking out I'm all ears. AM

I am fascinated with this: The Penis Chart (stolen from wtf_inc)

It's not just penis size though, they tell you about sexual skills (or lack thereof), asshole factor, fetishes, and condom usage. Like 200 guys on the list!

Very intrigued by the cocks of Flea, Tom Araya, Lars Ulrich, and definitely Phil Anselmo, though I'm not a size queen at all.

Some of my favorite reviews: (can you guess who?)

* has a dick so small he probably pisses on his balls. About 4.5 inches. He REALLY loves to receive oral, but won't even THINK of returning the favor. Very egotistical and likes to watch what's going on in the mirror. Also comes off a bit fruity and might be into guys more.

* The only problem is when you're having sex with him you get the impression he's performing for 20,000 screaming fans. I have honestly never seen anyone look more retarded while having an orgasm. I thought he was having a seizure. Overall I'd give him a 9 in the sack, even though it was all I could do to keep from laughing when he came.

* Temper tantrum boy has only an average cock but above average sized balls. We heard he had one of his famous models (Seymour) take a dump in a kitty liter box!!! I don't know about you girls, but my pussy ain't going anywhere near a litter box.

* He looks like he hasn't taken a shower in 3 years, and on Howard Stern I saw him picking his nose like it was going out of style. Reports say he has about an 8 inch dick though.

* What a fat lazy piece of shit. He has no charisma in the sack or on stage! After screwing thousands of chicks, he just doesn't put any effort into it anymore. If you hook up with him, you deserve a painful yeast infection. Not to mention he has the build of Cartman from South Park.

* Also he fucks exactly like he plays guitar...too fast & plenty hard...only doggy style.

* He's also kinda kinky and will say "RUN!" and then chase you around the bedroom.

* hung nicely and into foreplay and all that. He's back to wearing hair extensions and of course enjoys his krell.

* he has hair growing out of the side of his shaft, so be careful if you are going down on him!

* Loves to give oral and like most guys like it even more in return. Very paranoid about people coming after him and is known to be a bitch.

* Kind of like trying to play pool with a piece of rope. What a bummer, must be all the alcohol! If he is sober and can get it up, he is fairly selfish in his gratification.

* I knew a girl that use to go to his house up in the Hollywood Hills & said he liked to Jack Off with lotion 3-5 times a day when he was a Speed user! Nothing fancy on the size either. Must be all the bleach. Doesn't shut up either.

* so small if somebody saw you sucking his dick it would look like you were smoking a joint! Word has it that he is a lot like Freddie Mercury, on and OFF the stage.

* has a pretty small cock, plus he only has ONE BALL!

* Absolute waste of time. Maybe 3 inches if you pull on it. Could be the drugs though.

There are a lot of alleged 10-inchers on there though, not surprisingly. Fascinating, fascinating stuff, even if it's bullshit.

this is my intro post. i am a 29 year old queer metal dude in san francisco. i'm queer in that my tastes are many and varied in people. and i'm queer about metal in the same way. i don't like music based on genres so much as what apeals to my ear.

other shit i listen to that isn't necessarily metal: sonic youth, nirvana, ween, jawbreaker, grace jones, pat benetar, antipop consortium, aesop rock, the faint, cat power, 16 horse power, einsturzende neubauten, and assorted underground hip hop, dance, 80s trash, classic rock, experimental, indie, etc.

what i do: make leather dog collars, work at a sex club, make paintings, ride my bike, read fantasy/sci-fi, watch action, horror, sci-fi movies, do bikram yoga, read comic books, daydream about tattoos i want to get, collect plastic horses no bigger than 3 inches high, drink beer, play pool, over self-analyze, sew, discover new things on my own, eat too much sugar.

who i like: my friends, new people with a good sense of humor, something interesting to talk about, an open mind and an open heart who are into some or none of my above long, long list, sexy girls, slutty boys.

let's get this community going! and anyone in the sf bay area that wants to go to metal shows: comment, let's go go go!

So I made this community to find other queer metalheads, share music and info about bands, post about upcoming shows, etc. This is not a community for music snobs and "more metal than thou" attitudes. I don't wanna see discussions along the lines of "that's not REAL metal, and everyone's a poseur but me." We all like different shit, so respect that and keep it somewhat civil.

Introduce yourself, too.

I'm Cowen, 29, trans fag in San Francisco. My parents started me on metal when I was a baby. My first record that I picked out for myself was Twisted Sister's "Stay Hungry" when I was 6 years old. Now I like everything from death metal to cheesy 80's metal. Some of my favorite bands: Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica (pre-black album), Morbid Angel, Entombed, Black Sabbath, Tool (and all related entities), Judas Priest, Pantera, Dio, early 80's Ozzy, et cetera. I'm no metal expert or anything, just a casual fan. I'm open to suggestions about other bands I should check out. I don't like most "new" metal or rap-metal though.

My favorite local San Franisco band is Saros. But then again I don't know of many others because I'm a hermit.

That is all.
